At Let Them Farm

we free range our kids…

Let your kids get dirty.

Let them play.

Let them scrape their knee.

Let them choose.

Let them grow.

Let them fail.

Let them make mistakes.

Let them live.

Let them love.

Let them be little.

What does free ranging your kids look like?

Your kids are only little for so long and the world is very big, so in this big world our kids are discovering who they are and how they are going to fit into this life.

Why do we do what we do?

If you had asked me years ago, before I became a mom, where do you see yourself in 5+ years, my answer would never have been owning a farm. I am fairly certain my parents would agree that this is not the life they envisioned either, as we have connecting properties, but, it’s a great life. However, becoming a mom opened my eyes to so many things I never thought of. How can I serve my family? How can I provide a promising life for my children? How can I grow their knowledge and create life long experiences for them in the world we live in? It also made me question all the things that I put in and on their bodies, especially considering each of my children and my husband had considerably sensitive skin, and after talking with my sister-in-law, my nephew was at the top of the charts.

So let’s start a farm!

We can grow a garden and have fresh vegetables, we can have chickens and have fresh eggs, we can have goats and have fresh milk, we can plant trees and eventually have fruit. We can have rabbits and they can be used for… cuddles, and quail they can eventually become… fat, because we will just keep feeding them forever. We can get a donkey and name him Wonky, and forever have a Wonkey Donkey. While we are at it we should probably add a couple ducks and some geese and a million more chickens so that our kids can have the best life ever. Somewhere in the mix my non-farming parents decided they should also ride the train and add some chickens and goats to their lives as well, because well, we didn’t have enough for both of us.

But, in creating a farm we built more than just fun experiences; we built friendships and started becoming a homestead, learning from other farms and having friends and family teach our kids things that we couldn’t, because it takes a village!

Hamboo Homestead has helped teach us about dairy goats and feeding our own dairy goats to get the freshest non-goaty tasting milk. They have also taught us the skill of making goat milk cheeses and been more than gracious in sharing the goodies from their garden.

Narrow Path Farm has combined forces with us and taught us how to make soaps, balms, lotions and much more. (Narrow Path Products are also able to be purchased on the website).

At Let Them Farm, we do what we do, because we want our kids to have the experience of hard work and watching a dream become a reality. We want to grow our kids, grow our knowledge and grow our garden. We want to provide a fruitful future and home for our family to come to, and we want to enlighten not only ourselves, but our community about the benefits that natural products have on our bodies. We are building from the ground up, by the grace of God, and are ready to grow our business and share the benefits of our product with the world.
